It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonita Clark Holder, who left us on March 28, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on June 30, 1962, in Bessemer, Alabama, Bonita was a dedicated mother, sister, Memaw, and friend who lived her life with a passion for family and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Bonita will be remembered for her love of her sons, Jeremy Belcher (Kelli) and Braxton Holder, and for the special bond she shared with her grandson, Bison Belcher. She found joy in watching Bison grow and thrive, and their time together was filled with laughter and love. Bonita also cherished her other grandson, Landon Boone, and her family meant the world to her.
Bonita was preceded in death by her parents, John Clark and Juanita Clark.
Bonita dedicated her professional life to her work as an inspector in the packaging box industry at Smurfit Westrock. Her work ethic and commitment were a testament to her character.
Bonita had a zest for life that was reflected in her hobbies. Whether it was hitting strikes at the bowling alley, catching fish on the river, she always brought her outspoken, fighting spirit along. She also had a soft spot for her cats and had a special fondness for the color purple.
Bonita, who was proudly 8 minutes older, is survived by her loving twin sister, Anita Gavin; niece, Rachel Mooney; and brother, John Clark; who will remember her fondly and hold onto the precious memories they created together.
In honor of Bonita's life, a celebration of life service will be held at Anderson Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Matt Malone offering words of comfort.
Family and friends are invited and encouraged to casually dress and wear purple in her honor for visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Bonita will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the fond memories shared by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you call your mom -and if you can, hug her.
