Charles "Buddy" Ragsdale

Charles “Buddy” Ragsdale, age 77 of the Oak Grove Community in Portland, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. 

A native of Madison, Tennessee, he was born to the late Joe and Dorothy (Marlin) Ragsdale.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Ragsdale and Mike Ragsdale; and a sister, Melba Frazier.

Mr. Ragsdale was a member of the Portland Church of Christ, and had retired from Dupont after 36 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ragsdale;  son, Kevin Ragsdale and wife Terrie of Portland; daughters, Lori Choate of Portland, Patty Hardin and her husband Tim of Westmoreland; grandchildren, Nick Ragsdale, Katie Ragsdale, Jonathan Ragsdale, Lauren Faro and husband Stephen, John Stewart, Annie Gober and husband Dylan; great grandchildren, Logan Arnold, Kyra Sanders, Austin Gober, Bonnie Gober, June Faro, Matt Stewart, Terry Stewart, Lillie Stewart; sister Anita Hudson and husband Bob; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland with Charles Hicks officiating.  His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
