Clara L. Morss, age 73 of Gallatin, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Brookdale of Gallatin. She was born to the late Charlie Grayson Gray and Lillie A. Morgan Gray. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee Morss; brothers. Charles Gray, and Clyde Gray; stepmother, Auda Gray.
Mrs. Morss drove a school bus for many years for Sumner County Schools, and was a member of Sulfur Fork Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Tom C. Smith (Sherry) of Westmoreland, James Smith (Sherry Ann) of Tulsa, OK, Cathy Smith Young (Steve) of Westmoreland, Christopher E. Morss (Christy) of Westmoreland; 10 grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jo Gray of Gallatin, Aleda Moore (Verbal) of Gallatin; brothers, Dolphus Smith (Jeannie) of Watertown, Edward Smith (Doris) of Bethpage, Barney Smith (Betty) of Watertown.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Morss will be conducted on Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at the Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Chandler and Bro. Christopher Morss officiating. Interment will follow in the Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Christopher Lee Morss will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
Visitation with the family will begin on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and resume on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. here at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gallatin. She will lie in state at the Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the church on Sunday.
