George Thomas Howes

George Thomas Howes, age 69 of Gallatin, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Gallatin to the late Theodore & Elizabeth (Grimms) Howes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Howes, and Harry Howes.

He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, and had been a manager for Rapistan, and also worked many years with the Tennessee Department of Health. He was a loving father, beloved brother, and friend to many.

He is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Jo Principi and husband Scott of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; granddaughter Logan Josephine Principi; brothers, Theodore Howes and his wife Brenda, Charlie Howes; sister, Betty Howes Bennett and her husband Kevan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with James Bell officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps. Visitation will also be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until time of memorial service.

A gathering of friends and family will follow the memorial service at his residence.

Anderson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street is in charge of the arrangements.
