Harold Harry Henderson went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 9th, 2021, at the age of 94. He was surrounded by his beloved wife and family at home.
He was a highly decorated WW2 veteran, the founding member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at Valparaiso University, and obtained master’s degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. As a senior executive for a Fortune 500 company, he was instrumental and held leadership positions in many charities including the Chicago Baseball Cancer Charities and Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. He greatly influenced and took great interest in everyone in his life, especially young people looking for guidance for personal and career decisions. He consulted with 3 American Presidents - Nixon, Ford and Reagan, and was instrumental in creating the first industry awareness of pollution issues in America. Above all, however, his greatest accomplishment was that of a loving husband, father and mentor to his family and their friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Sharon Henderson, sons Scott (LouAnn), Todd (Susan), Gregg (Kristine), Brett, Jeff and daughter Jill Henderson. He was also a grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 10. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched and his legacy will live on for many years to come. As a man of great character, he is honorably and lovingly laid to rest at the Nashville National Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to the Anderson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street, Gallatin, Tennessee.
