Vera Harrison

Vera Harrison, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Sumner Regional Medical Center.

A Portland native, she was born to the late Elvis McCullough and Margaret “Maggie” Jane Glover McCullough, in Portland, Tennessee.

For most of her life, she was a factory worker. She attended the Fountain Head Church of Christ in Portland, Tennessee and loved her church very much.

Besides her parents, Vera is preceded in death by late husbands, Richard E. Harness and Garvin Harrison; children, Gary W. Harness, Danny L. Harness, Jackie E. Harness and William “Billy” R. Harness.

Vera is survived by children, Deborah Harness Roper and husband, Larry, Brenda D. Harness, Michael G. Harness, and Kim Harness; four grandchildren, Michael S. Baker, Ashleigh Roper Reinersman and husband, Ben, Cynthia Harness, and Ezra Roper; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Reinersman, Cheyanne Reinersman, Zayden Harness, and Braxten Sellars; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Vera will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2 P.M. from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home with Brother Doug Parks officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 12:00 P.M. until service time.

Interment will be held at the Gallatin City Cemetery with Dale Ventress, Danny Ventress, Dusty Ventress, Mike Harness, David Dowell, Ezra Roper, Ben Reinersman, and Larry Roper serving as pallbearers.
